One brother: Paul W. Chaisson, Three sisters: Rose Belle Derouselle, Delores Mouton, Evora Ann Broussard: Nieces and nephews, (including a Priest, Rev. Jason Thomas Mouton who pastors Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Lafayette, Louisiana), a paramedic, RNs, LVNs, Medication Aids and Nurses. She and her family are dedicated to taking care of the sick. Other family includes the members of the Friendship C.O.G.I.C. and ALL GOD’S PEOPLE.
Native Of Lafayette Parish Louisiana, she was Married to the late Ollie Cooper 50 years. Daughter of the late Moise Chaisson and the late Orelia Francis Chaisson, foster Mother to one son, Terry W. Chaisson & wife, Reba. Two foster grandsons, Brandon Michael and Chris Alexander Chaisson, all of Flossmoor, Illinois.
Saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost for more than 62 years. She was saved under the pastorate of the late Bishop C.H. Nelson, who was her late husband’s uncle, at the White Rose C.O.G.I.C., Port Arthur, Texas. And has served in every office in the local church - White Rose C.O.G.I.C. and presently at Friendship C.O.G.I.C., Port Arthur, Texas and continues to serve wherever the Lord leads her.
After graduation from high school, her parents were unable to send her to college. She moved to Port Arthur, Texas to live with her uncle and his wife, John and Betty Francis. She worked on a defense job. Later she pursued her education in Nursing and retired as a State Certified - Nurse’s Assistance Sitter.
A licensed Evangelist Missionary for more than 46 years, by Bishop T.D. Iglehart and the late Mother Emma F. Crouch. She Adjutant to the late Mother Emma F. Crouch for 21 years. And served on the Financial Committee - Texas Southwest Jurisdiction Women’s Department for 21 years. She was Personal Financial Secretary to the late Emma F. Crouch for 21 years. Served as District Missionary for the Original Beaumont District for 34 years, with the late Supt. H. Boswell, the late Supt. J.B. Freeman, the late Supt. K.K. Williams and Supt. Eddie Toppen, Jr. All the late superintendent mentioned above were also her Pastors except Supt. H. Boswell. She also served under the pastorate of the late Supt. O.J. Jenkins, Sr.
A well known worker in the International COGIC. Mother Cooper served with the National Hospitality Committee, on the National Communion Committee, Co-Chairperson for the International Women’s Convention,
